Personalised Hypnotherapy Services for Mind & Body Healing

Many clients come to SFH for support with anxiety, low mood, stress, sleep difficulties, and confidence, but it is also increasingly recognised for its benefits in IBS, chronic inflammation, persistent pain, and other long-term conditions.

Support Tailored to You

To experience the full therapeutic benefits, most clients find that 8-10 sessions allow time for meaningful progress and lasting change. If you'd like to explore whether SFH is right for you, I offer a free discovery call. This is a gentle, no-obligation conversation to help you feel informed and supported before booking.

Free Initial Consultation (45 Mins)

As part of making my services more accessible, I'm no longer charging for the initial consultation. I want everyone to have the opportunity to understand the process, see whether it's a good fit for them, and explore their options in a calm, low-pressure way, especially when finances are a consideration.

What to Expect During the Initial Consultation

  • Space to talk through your goals, concerns, or questions at your own pace

  • An overview of how hypnotherapy and mind–body work can support your specific situation.

  • An explanation of what happens in the brain when people experience certain thoughts, feelings, and behaviours, using up-to-date neuroscience research. Understanding the brain’s patterns and protective responses can help you make sense of your experiences, reduce fear or confusion, and feel more empowered as we work together toward change.

  • Clarifying practical details such as session structure, frequency, and what the process looks like

  • An opportunity to get a feel for how I work and whether this feels like the right support for you.

Support for Chronic Conditions, Inflammation & Gut Health

Many chronic conditions are influenced by the way the brain and body communicate. When the nervous system is in a heightened state, symptoms such as inflammation, pain, digestive discomfort, and fatigue can become more intense.

SFH helps by:

  • Calming the fight-or-flight response

  • Reducing stress-related inflammation

  • Supporting the gut–brain axis

  • Helping the brain process pain signals differently

  • Improving sleep quality

  • Building emotional resilience and reducing symptom-related anxiety

Clients often notice improvements in comfort, flare-ups, energy levels, and overall well-being as their system becomes calmer and more regulated.

IBS & Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy

Gut-directed hypnotherapy is one of the most evidence-based psychological approaches for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Sessions are gentle, structured, and tailored to your unique symptom pattern. During sessions, we will focus on:

  • Reducing the sensitivity of the gut–brain communication loop

  • Calming the nervous system to reduce flare-ups

  • Supporting digestion through guided relaxation

  • Building confidence and reducing symptom-related worry

  • Helping you regain a sense of control and ease

You don’t need to talk in detail about symptoms or revisit difficult experiences. The work is forward-focused, supportive, and empowering.

Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy Programme (4 × 90-minute sessions) £360

Free initial consultation → 4 structured hypnotherapy sessions → personalised recordings

Gut-Directed Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based approach recognised by NICE and increasingly acknowledged by medical professionals as an effective way to ease IBS symptoms and support healthier gut-brain communication. I deliver this work through the specialist HypnoIBS® training I have completed, while keeping the focus on a gentle, accessible, gut-directed approach.

As someone with lived experience of IBS and the autoimmune condition Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, I bring a deeper level of understanding and empathy. I know how disruptive and exhausting IBS can feel. This structured four-session programme combines soothing gut-focused hypnotherapy, guided imagery, nervous system regulation techniques, and personalised recordings for use between sessions, helping you build confidence in your body’s ability to settle, regulate, and recover.

Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Programme (6 × 60-minute sessions) £360

This structured six-session programme supports a wide range of emotional and wellbeing concerns, including anxiety, low mood, sleep difficulties, stress, overthinking, low self-esteem, and confidence. A personalised recording is included for use between sessions. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy works by calming the nervous system and strengthening helpful thinking patterns; as a result, it can be beneficial for many other conditions as well. If your specific concern is not listed, please feel free to contact me. We can explore together whether this approach is the right fit for you.

Pain Rewired Programme

A neuroscience-based programme designed to help clients living with chronic pain retrain the mind-body patterns that keep pain switched on. Pain is a real protective response from a nervous system that has become stuck in a state of high alert, and this approach uses pain reprocessing principles, soothing hypnotherapy, nervous system education, and targeted hypnotic techniques to calm overprotective pain pathways. Structured sessions will guide clients step by step towards creating safer patterns in the brain, supporting long-term relief and a renewed sense of control.

EMDR-Informed Hypnotherapy for Trauma & PTSD

This programme will offer clients a way to work with traumatic experiences without becoming overwhelmed. It will help the brain reprocess stuck memories, reduce emotional intensity, and create new, safer pathways. Sessions will focus on nervous system regulation, grounding, and building inner stability, supporting clients as they move towards relief, resilience, and a renewed sense of safety.

Scaling and Focused Questions

Session Structure

Step 1. Why Start With "What's Been Good?" Matters

The first thing I ask clients at the beginning of a session is "What's been good?" Clients often arrive with a brain full of worries or problems, so asking "What's been good?" gently interrupts that pattern.

It signals that we're looking for progress, not problems. Your brain is capable of noticing what's working well for you.

Over time, this becomes a habit. Clients start spotting positives automatically, which reduces anxiety and increases cognitive flexibility.

Step 2. Explanation of the Brain

Explaining what happens in the brain when we experience stress or anxiety is a fundamental part of therapy. When clients don’t understand their symptoms, they often assume:

“There’s something wrong with me.”
“I’m broken.”
“I shouldn’t be reacting like this.”

A simple explanation of the brain reframes their experience as a normal biological response, not a personal failure. Understanding that anxiety, low mood, or overwhelm come from the brain’s protective systems and not weakness gives clients a sense of relief and validation.

Step 3. Scaling and Future-Focused Questions

Scaling questions (e.g., “On a scale of 1–10…”) are far more than a measurement tool. They help clients shift their internal state, access resources, and recognise progress.

Many clients arrive with a vague sense of “I feel awful” or “I’m overwhelmed".

A scale forces the brain to be specific and activates the rational, problem-solving part of the brain. For a client to choose a number on the scale, they must reflect and think logically.

This pulls them out of the primitive, emotional brain and into the prefrontal cortex. This is the part responsible for calm, perspective, and decision-making.

How Scaling and Future Focus Work Together

These two tools are especially powerful when combined.

For example:

  • “You’re at a 4 today. What would a 5 look like?”
  • “What would you be doing differently?”
  • “How would you know you’d moved up a point?”
  • This creates direction and clarity for the client and a motivation for change.

Step 4. Trance

Trance is important in solution-focused hypnotherapy because it calms the threat-focused parts of the brain, activates the calmer, more rational areas, and makes the mind more receptive to forming new, helpful neural pathways.

I ask future-focused questions just before trance because they give the brain a clear direction to work with. By imagining how they want things to be, the client activates the networks involved in motivation, planning, and positive expectation. Then, in trance, the brain can deepen and consolidate those ideas, making change feel more natural and achievable.
